If you decided to take an initial leap into deep water with an upgrade to the newly published Ubuntu Long Term Support release (10.04, LTS), and are having trouble compiling VMWARE Server 2 kernel modules, do not panic - their is a fix.

hmontoliu has a guide for modifying a module compile patch to include an additional "#include" file allowing VMWARE Server to run without hesitation on this new Ubuntu release.

The patch works with both VMWARE Server 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 and is available here: ubuntugeek.
