WE HAVE FIVE OF THESE AVAILABLE. THE PLAQUES, GUNS, AND HELMETS ARE ALL IDENTICAL; AND WHILE ALL THE SQUIRRELS ARE GRAY SQUIRRELS, THEY MAY HAVE VERY SLIGHT DIFFERENCES IN COLORING, ETC." - [ebay.com]

collective action to clean parks, preparing meals, organizing blood drives, and much more: Give back to your community on January 19th, 2009

14 January, 2009 13:32

Renew America Together

"On Monday, January 19th, wherever you are, will you host or participate in an event in your own community? Thousands of people are going to be cleaning parks, preparing meals, organizing blood drives and much more. Will you be a part of giving back to your community on January 19th?"

Martin Luther King, Jr. recognized the power of service to strengthen communities and create common purpose. On the day that honors him - Monday, January 19th - Rock the Vote is joining forces with the Presidential Inaugural Committee to hold a national day of service.

"Last year, you showed the world the power of young people taking collective action, organizing voter registration drives and turning out to the polls in record numbers. On Monday, let’s usher in a new president with community service and celebration to kick off a year of positive social change."

Q: What is the latest a person or organization can host an event?

A:  Events can be submitted until the 17th, but it's recommended that events be submitted by the 15th to allow people more time to sign up to attend the event.

Q: Will there be opportunities to volunteer after MLK Day?

A: Yes, stay tuned. The goal is for MLK Day to reignite the American tradition of service and volunteerism and to that end the current call to action is viewed as a starting point. Details on how to stay active in the future will be coming soon.

Q: I have children. Are kids welcome to volunteer too?

A: Yes, although minors under the age of 16 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Random Thought : I have just moved once again. I think I will find a nice park in this area and take along a couple of garbage bags...

1   Take the carrier and multiply by the percentage you would want to use. Example: 5 lb of carrier oil - needing to add 2% of an essential oil, convert 5 lbs to 80 oz ( 5lbs x 16oz = 80 oz) and then multiply 80 oz by .02 (2%) which gives you 1.6 oz. Alternatively: you can multiply oz x 30 to get ml (or cc). So 1.6 oz x 30 = 48 ml or 48 cc.

2   Temperature and Storage

  • Keep caps tightly closed when not in use.

  • Do not store in direct sunlight.

  • Avoid exposure to high heat and light for prolonged periods.

  • Store at normal room temperature.

  • Take a periodic (now is good) inventory of your oils and rotate and use what is getting older.

  • Use your oils! It isn’t the one who dies with the most oils that wins, it’s the one who uses the most oils that lives.
