I always assumed monkeys controlled my electronic gadgets. Now I know however, that their are little people inside my computer that love you.

old Saint Nick

It really is almost Christmas. Apart from the 50 degree weather and the absence of snow, good old Saint Nick will be visiting in a few days.

I will be heading back home on Friday. Thursday we might get some freezing rain for the ride. For all those who know me, I do not like the idea of riding a large bus with slick roads. I have been in one or two accidents through-out my career.

Christmas eve we spend at my grandmas. I am looking forward to seeing her. I am also looking forward to the good food. I plan on replacing the pounds I have lost in the last couple of weeks. It should make it all worth while.

My uncle always gets me a present for Christmas. It is somewhat out of the ordinary. He lost his son a few years ago, and I think he thinks of me in relation to his son because I might have been going through some of the same turmoil. I have a hard time confronting him about it, so it is a bit awkward. I just don't know what to say, other than thanks.

I am looking forward to getting in touch with a few friends back home. I don't visit very often, so I am in need of some La Crosse excitement - shoot the shit, and other such things.

Unfortunately I have to take the greyhound. It wouldn't be so bad if they took I-90, but instead take 14 all the way into town. What should be a two hour drive or less, with a couple stops to stretch the legs, takes well over 3 hours. All should be OK though, with my MP3 player and cell phone. I hope I get some sort of data service along the way.

Random Thought : I need a new router. I killed my linksys. Did this once before, but restored it by grounding a pin on the flash chip. Well, I grounded the wrong one. It be junk. Damn it, damn it to hell!
