airplane powered by four "fly" - yes fly, as in insect fly - engines

24 August, 2006 15:36

I really don't have much to say about this project, other than I will be following the step by step directions for making a fly powered match-stick airplane.

cats beware, here we go again!

16 August, 2006 14:42

In relation to: "hall of mirrors cat torture" AND the "cat piano", I have to introduce the "Remote Control Cat Toy".

If I at all thought that this species was safe in this day of age, as not so safe in the past; hence the piano and mirror torture, I was surely wrong.

Meatloaf, beans and potatoes - Yum!

16 August, 2006 12:52

Nothing beats a home cooked meal. Especially when my usual lunch or supper consists of a sandwich or some type of noodle.

Luckily I have Wilson's Bar close by where I can get a good old fashioned homemade meal.

Today I was greeted by meatloaf, potatoes, and beans on my plate. Absolutely incredible.

The establishment also has a Friday fish fry and a Saturday prime rib special - check it out!

when things get weird between a cucumber and a pickle

14 August, 2006 14:05

This conversation got really weird really fast. If you need details of the conversation starter, e-mail me.

(13:51:16) *********: lol
(13:51:23) *********: something more durable than a pickle
(13:51:24) *********: :)
(13:51:49) !!!!!!!!!!: damn, because I just picked a pile of pickles...
(13:51:55) *********: hehe
(13:52:10) *********: well you like eating them.. so using them for exploration would be a waste..
(13:52:11) *********: lol
(13:52:36) !!!!!!!!!!: hmm, an exploratory pickle... never thought of that
(13:52:47) *********: well.. you might loose it
(13:52:50) !!!!!!!!!!: I could probably market such a thing
(13:52:57) *********: but would be smaller than a cucumber
(13:53:06) *********: lol
(13:53:21) !!!!!!!!!!: are you saying an exploratory cucumber would be better than a pickle?
(13:53:51) *********: well.. not to start out with
(13:53:57) *********: unless it was a slim cucumber
(13:54:23) !!!!!!!!!!: where would I find, such a thing you mention, "a slim cucumber"?
(13:54:39) *********: not sure
(13:54:45) !!!!!!!!!!: drats
(13:54:47) *********: maybe a nice organic food store?
(13:55:16) !!!!!!!!!!: hmm, an exploratory slim cucumber... I will have to look for one. ;)

Random Thought : Peter Piper really did pick a pile (yes a pile) of pickled peppers. What the hell did he do with them? That is the real question!

Dan Capps

14 August, 2006 13:10

I had a talk with Dan Capps about his display at the Olbrich Gardens. He had various butterfly displays and other insects which I can not remember the classification of at this time (we are a lively world, yes).

It was a pleasure meeting him and sharing some interesting facts about nature, in all parts of this world.

Although we did not chat long, I learned two things: he is a very down to earth individual with a friendly charm that probably has no hinder to make friends with, and he hold the guiness world record for spitting a cricket 32' and 1/2".

Yes, that is thirty two feet and one half inches. I have a hard enough time throwing a rock 32 feet, much less a cricket from my mouth.

Random Thought : If only their were happiness insurance.. I imagine however that it would be pricey, and the deductible insane... Someone suggested a savings account, but I would rather be insured happiness...

Thomas Jefferies

09 August, 2006 17:45

One of the influences that had the most impression in my musical tastes developed when I was around eighteen years old by a man of the name, Thomas Jefferies.

He turned me on to Simon and Garfunkel, Blood Sweat and Tears, and many other artists. We always enjoyed a glass of fine wine and listened to the tunes he turned me on too - the tunes he grew up with, and the tunes that I gained attraction too.

Although I give a lot of people in my life a lot of credit for introducing me to musical styles, Thom was the most influential.

I lost track of him many years ago. He was an older gentleman with a voice and face that I will never forget. I hope one day I will get a chance to talk to him. I have tried tracking him down, but the search has not been successful for various reasons.

If you ever read this Thom, I am a carved rock and a growing island. I still need a bridge at times, but the troubled waters are not as dangerous as they once were. I hope to hear from you again. I think of you often.

I made it to 27! Celebrate!

06 August, 2006 19:59

It is my birthday today - turned the big 27. Last night I went down to the Harmony with Chad and AJ and listened to "The Benefits of Being Paranoid", and exceptional jazz band. They were absolutely unbelievable and I plan on following their performances. We then headed to the Glass Nickle and I foolishly ate a calzone with halapeanos. I partied like I turned 21.. good times, good times...
