Yesterday was a good day indeed. The Atwood Neighborhood festival was in full swing with music, beer, arts and crafts. I headed down there yesterday morning and chilled out a bit before the music started - browsing crafts and the various vendors of food.
There were two band stages and I bounced back from one to the other. I gave Chad a call and we met at my house and headed back down to the grounds. The festival is only four blocks from where I live.
We soon parted and headed to AJ's house, whom I was just introduced too. We enjoyed a couple beers and I took the opportunity to take a few shots of his garden.
I was planning on going to a Raggae party last night, but between the heat and thick beer, I was drained.
I really did get a good feel of Madison. Everyone I met and talked to were nice and caring. Good time and good feeling indeed.
[Day to Day]
Scotty! We need more power to the engines, we just can't tip toe on 350 degrees of sub standard Dinominoes Crystals! John replied, now captain of pizzafleet command (Kirk was upchucked like a photon torpedo of undercooked sausage), I will give you all the vegetables we have. You have gotten us through this before...
Scotty: she really is a beauty this engine of ours.. we will need a few days to recover, but she should be fine...
John : that be - a - no Scotty, we have a Ferrengi on our tail.. and Scotty, his name is Andy!
I spent a week in La Crosse, and a couple days in the Twin Cities for my cousin's wedding. The bus ride down to La Crosse was rather peaceful, mainly because I drifted in and out of day dreams. When I arrived, Jim was waiting at the bus station to pick me up. Pompeo (sorry for all the spelling mistakes) was also there for the head back to their house.
The first couple days I did not do much. I had an enjoyable time the first day tasting some wine and doing a little chit chat.
Jim, myself, and Pompao went for a hike at Hixon Forest. It is a beautiful series of hiking trails with connection to the many bluffs on
that side of La Crosse. We found ourselves next to the weather station facing La Crosse. I managed to get a cheesy shot of the city, and a rather nice shot of Jim and his Grandson shooting the sling shot.
Friday we went out for fish. I have always loved fish, whether raw (sushi) or broiled. Jim and I got pretty shit faced, and he felt it through out the night. I am still a young guy and can handle the injection of pure poison. Granted, he kept up like a kid at heart.
Saturday morning we headed up to the cities for the wedding. We arrived about 15 minutes late, which wasn't such a bad thing. I have
to admit though, it was one of the most liberal catholic marriages I have experienced. The ceremony was beautiful and with that I wish Nicky and Brad the best.
At the reception, I had Walleye and steak. I wasn't very hungry and was a little embarrassed for not clearing my plate, since the food was indeed incredible.
Of course there was free beer, and I immediately took advantage of the amenities. A majority of my family arrived the night before and I could tell they were tired and not interested so much in making a scene. In any case, it was a good time. I did get a strange feeling from my family however. My cousins hardly talked to me, and only two uncles really gave a shit if I was there or not. Although I do not have a lot of interaction with them, the feeling was a bummer.
I ended up staying in my own room. I made a pot of coffee and watched some TV. I also took a few minutes to explore, what looked like, some sort of DSL device.
We headed back to La Crosse, and I took the well needed time to nap, rest, and get my marbles straight.
On Tuesday, I managed to get a hold of Dane and Nick and we
headed down to what used to be WC's.
The next day I headed home, pretty exhausted from the night before. All in all, it was a good visit.
I received a very polite and caring phone call from godaddy to check and see if I am happy with my service, they notified me of pending changes to the account, and they did'nt try to sell me anything.
Hats off to you guys! It is a good feeling when I get a call like that from such a large company. Thanks!

I was watching a PBS presentation on string theory. Pondering the episode, a question popped into my head. Or rather it was a theoretical daydream, trip of sorts. What if while we have multiple dimensions and were able to move an object, or whatever, to one of these alternatives - and in this other dimension, that object view of the dimensions knew the path back home, but were present with other multiple and unique dimensions only available from that point. It would be the ultimate Internet. A single and perfect path from one dimension to a destination, with an infinite set of destinations from that traveled too. I would not want to get lost in a maze like this!
Anyway, I will ponder this in my sleep... :)

I had a wonderful 4th of July. I was able to spend some long due time with family and friends and take in the familiarity of my home town.
As always, La Crosse was very busy. However, surprisingly the energy has died a bit in the past few years. It was a comfortable change of pace for myself, since I am not much of a crowd person.
The fireworks were a sight to see, as always. I purchased a digital camera (Kodak P850) and managed to get a couple shots. I headed down there with Chad - he is a blast to hang out with. We enjoyed a pitcher, a couple smokes, and some wonderful night sky excitement. The night was absolutely beautiful and exceptionally clear for the fireworks.
Now that I have a couple new brothers and sisters, a niece and their friends, I was able to spend some time and get to know them a little better.
Good times, good times...
