week in La Crosse

30 January, 2007 21:54

I spent almost a week in La Crosse.  I had an appointment that required my presence back home.  It wasn't a bad visit, in it's enitrety.  However, I ran into a couple old friends that were not doing so well with issues such as drug use and depression.

I ran into an old buddy of mine where I had the appointment at and we later spent the afternoon drinking coffee and chatting.  He has been through so much, and is still going through more than someone should be able to bare.  He started shooting up some dope while I was there, and I just had to take off.  It wasn't before I realized there was nothing I could do for him.  I wish you the best.

A close friend of mine is staying at a halfway house at the moment.  Poor guy is confused and depressed, because of drugs and a recent run in with the law.  Unfortunantly now is not a time for me to be spending too much time with him.  He is at a point where he could use me as an outlet for things that I would rather not be involved in.  I shed a teer for you man.  You are a good friend, and I will get a hold of you again.  Just not now.

On a brighter note, here is a picture of a caffeinated doughnut:

Caffeinated Donut.

That cup of coffee just not getting it done anymore? How about a Buzz Donut or a Buzzed Bagel? That’s what Doctor Robert Bohannon, a Durham, North Carolina, molecular scientist, has come up with. Bohannon says he’s developed a way to add caffeine to baked goods, without the bitter taste of caffeine. Each piece of pastry is the equivalent of about two cups of coffee.

Random Thought : I sometimes find myself in a better place, worse than most but better than some others I know.
