the hair of human sexuality - why do we have pubic hair, serious

Digging around on the net, I came across a curious question: why do we have pubic hair?  In no way is this post of a childish or silly attempt at anything except the answer.  Why?

One of the reasons states that Pheromones are released from the skin and the hair is intended to trap the chemicals while releasing it to attract a mate.  

A second reason is body warmth.  It is speculated that way back when humans wore nothing but a cloth over that area, the pubic hair was a method to keep the reproductive system heated.

Back to the first possibility..  it is most probabably that Pheremones are the main reason for hair growth around that region.  Whether we can actively smell it or not, our evolution has taught us to pick up on these chemicals and decide compatibility.
