hairy lobster with a side salad

08 March, 2006 12:44

A new type of Crustacean was recently discovered that resembles a lobster, 7,500 feet deep, 900 miles south of Easter Island. "The animal is white and 15 centimeters (5.9 inches) long -- about the size of a salad plate".

This was a rather interesting article, but what caught my attention was "It's also blind. The researchers found it had only 'the vestige of a membrane' in place of eyes".

Continuing with my daily internet news, I came across a slashdot post with this quote: "Family name: Kiwaida. Unfortunately for the Kiwaida, the AP is already using this blind creature and a salad plate in the same sentence."

I just about busted a nut. Just about is a good thing. Although, I might be in danger if I keep finding quotes like that.
