lighttpd, fast-cgi, eaccelerator & htscanner alive once again

Those whom read this blog probably know that I use lighttpd as a webserver and fast-cgi for my applications.
While doing the transfer from godaddy to this server I put eaccelerator on the back burner for a while. But as of now, I have it running again with the help of [htscanner]. Lighttpd does not support .htaccess files, so I need htscanner to turn off eaccelerator for gallery2 and a couple other applications.
I did a benchmark before the installation. I will wait a day or so for eaccelerator to compile all the main php applications and run the benchmark again. I am way curiouse to see what, if any, or how much better page requests and content transfer is.

I have been fighting to stop smoking for several months now. The nicotine patches were not working well. I would wake up in the morning, take it off, have a smoke, put it back on; the rest of the day I would not have a smoke. In any case, it is not how it should be used and it would have not been successful.
So, I made an appointment with my Doc. To recap, I quit for two years using an anti-depressant, but started up again before moving to Madison. With the medication I am on now, that would not have been an effective choice.
He put me on Chantix. It works by manipulating the receptors in the brain that processes nicotein. You continue to smoke for 7 days when starting the drug. After 7 days, you quit cold turkey. I have about two days left. Already I can tell that my temptation for a cigarette has lessened.
The success rate for Chantix is amazing. I have been pumping myself up for this for quite a while and have complete confidence I will be smoke free. It is not a new years resolution, but it falls pretty close to that day.
I had a question about Wormwood which contains Thujone. I dillute it, about 5 or 10% when I am feeling ill and rub it on my stomach. Thujone is a very powerful GABA antagonist, promotes liver enzyme production, and promotes adrenal effeciency. I got the go a head for what I was using it for after looking at my current prescriptions. Wormwood is an essential oil sometimes used in aromatherapy, but very hard to find because of its toxicity.

December Essential Oil Purchases - Sandalwood Sri Lanka, Bergamot, Vetiver, & Sage Dalmation

My first impression of the Haitian Vetiver I ordered reminded me of a distillation in Java or El Salvador (smelling the bottle). After putting a drop on my hand and warming them together, the result was more like the Indian Vetiver I have talked about in the past, and my inability to find more of it.
Because of the similarity of the Haiti and Indian vetiver, I now feel complete. Vetiver is one my my favorite oils which can smell in the range of smoky, woodsy, to light and sweet.
This early month purchase included 5ml of Sandalwood Sri Lanka, a 2007 distillation, two 15ml bottles of Bergamot, and a 15ml bottle of sage dalmation along with the vetiver I mentioned above.
I am considering buying 20ml of a Sandalwood from a distributor, but I don't know if I have that kind of money to spend without a sample. They told me the smallest they could send and pay for is 2ml. If they would just send me two drops, free of charge, they would have a $100 order in January. In any case, we will see what happens.
I should mention also that I usually purchase the bergamot and sage dalmation from Aromathyme. I purchased these and the other oils from Nature's Gift. Both of their bergamot's are very nice, but I prefer Aromathyme's Sage Dalmation.

My Christmas was very nice. I had to take several looks at a couple of my relatives to realize whom they were. Man, do we grow fast or what?
We met at my Grandma's house and of course I was the first person in line for food. Beef, Pork, all the trimmings.. and who can resist Grandma's cookies and bakeries.
I am not sure if this was of the Grandma kind, but whomever made the cheesy potatoes needs a gold star.
Myself, and like many of you I am sure, appreciate this day for conversing with family. I am not very religious, but we sometimes forget the real reason we celebrate this day, so I gave that more thought this year than I had in the past.

turning your computer into a human development and evolution number crunching machine while it is not in use (BOINC)

Their are three projects I participate in, crunching data for scientific studies. These three: simap, seti, and einstein@home work to answer questions that I often ponder about life, space, physics, and protein comparisons.
The Seti@Home project uses an array of dishes to detect traces of interesting data sifting through pulsars, spikes, and other interferences.
Simap does protein comparisons which could lead the way to an abundance of new medicines to treat diseases and help us evolve in the understanding on how our bodies, and other life works and how they can be manipulated, or what can be manipulated to accomplish new medical scientific break through(s).
Einstein@Home tries to detect gravitational waves and also tries to prove a theory of Einstein's about gravitational waves and gravity allowing us to have a better understanding of how our universe works and functions.
If you leave your computer on while it is not being used, consider participating in one of these worth while projects.

It's all here! I finished the transfer of my host to my new host last night. It was pure pleasure hitting the cancel button on GoDaddy's home page.
Unfortunately, I had to transfer from one host to another with my new provider (again) because of a different pricing plan I decided on, resulting in a placement on a different rack and subnet.
But now, "that is that". I can now get back to my normal day of shoveling out and accomplishing spewage.
Random Thought : I think their is a squirrel stuck on my roof. It has been up there in the same spot shouting at me for three days now...
