Dina saved me for the first time. I decided I would overclock my router.
The first few increments worked fine. The one following the few managed to make my router useless - it was dead.
I was unable to get any response from the machine so my attempts at a TFTP installation of a new firmware would have been unsucessful.
Following instructions to short pins 15 and 16 on the firmware chip failed. Damn those things are small!
I finally managed to get ping responses when I shorted the antenna wire to pin 16 on the firmware controller chip. This was a bitch! I transfered the firmware with the trivial ftp protocol, it rebooted, and I was greeted with my new welcome screen.
I will think twice before doing 2 second silly things that require two hour fixings.

I proved once again that the slow cooker is an invention of great importance.
What was I to eat? Noodles? P&J Sandwich? Nope, beans, HOT beans!
What utilities were available to me, you might be asking? Well, I had ketchup (of course), salt, some hot sauce, pepper, and uncooked beans. What else did I have - a slow cooker. What I did not have, which I thought were necessary (but was not): brown sugar, bacon, and tomato sauce.
After about four hours of slow cooking on its highest setting, the meal came to a finish. My reaction was one of suprise. It really was good. Not fantastic, because of the missing ingredients, but once again I found a solution to a poor man's problem.
Now this afternoon I have some cool beans to heat up. I can't wait!

My Top Somewhat Inclusive Music List

My musical interests while younger were mostly influenced by
associations with friends and there musical tastes. As I grew
older, my aged influences paved the way to self liberation, in a
sense - rather I grew up, and through the help of friends, society,
but mostly myself, I discovered new styles of music and new genres
that are now part of my personal style and which flow through my
persona - now part of my personality.
Your identity when younger influences your musical preference, not
the other way around. No one can have an element of life totally
define your personality, nor can a personality totally pave the way
of static or dynamic preferences in life. However, influences,
social structures, and human interests, all aspects of life, allows
senses such as rhyme and beat to merge with our existing
understanding. This is what forms human life.
Music has moved me through time. There have been some undertones
and high notes of this travel. The whole sense and understanding of
our movement through life experiences allows our brains and souls to
negotiate connections to beat, rhyme, soul, and acceptance in its
whole.
I recently discovered an outlet, last.fm, that allows me to
explore self expression without barriers such as peer classification
of good or bad, or social exceptions or perversions of class.
For personal interest alone, and the curios reaction from those
whom read this, this post will provide a bland categorization (non
exclusionary by self protruding selfish indulgence) taste of what I
enjoy listening too.

slow cookers, the blue-ray technology of culinary arts

The slow cooker - the most usefull culinary invention that I have used.
Really, there isn't anything you can't make with it. I got one as a gift a couple years ago for christmas. I started out with pot roasts, and pork roasts, which always turned out amazing, but very simple to make and not very challenging.
So lately I have been experimenting a little bit. A few days ago I made a stew: potatoes, onions, garlic, rice, and a big fat stew bone. It was a killer meal and fun to prepare.
Then just a couple days ago I was contemplating lunch. Although I will cherish P&J sandwiches to the end, I was looking for something different. This was a hard project, since I didn't have a lot of food in my house. I did have potatoes, garlic cloves, corn, kindey beans, and rice, AND a small packet of beef mix from some sort of mystery boxed stroganoff kit. So I threw all that in, let it cook for a few hours, and wala! I was amazed, since I didn't think there would be a lot of flavor with such a small packet of seasoning. I was surely wrong.
Now here I am going at it again. Cuberts are pretty bare for nurishment except for clam chowder soup mix (which makes a half a gallon), and some encredibly unique rice that is organic and aged for 10 years. That is what is in the pot now. I just hope I used the right balance of water and rice. I think I did, but we will see.
Just to edit: The rice is aged for one year. I can't imagine what weird and creepy things may happen if I were to eat 10 year old rice.

as I tip toe through the capital state trail

There is a bike trail conveniently located just a couple blocks from
my apartment. Once in a while I try to get my lazy ass to burn a few
calories and head south.
On these occasions, my trusty mp3 player
holds a small collection of my favorite podcasts. I usually end the
journey before I am finished listening to one, but it is nice to have
them available, just in case.
The first I will mention, and my
favorite, is LUG Radio. These guys are a bit tipsy at times, and I am
certain they are drinking a pint - although they never mention it. It
is a podcast about Linux, open source, and open technologies. Even if
you use Windows, it is a hilarious program to check out.
This
week in tech (TWIT) is a podcast about all things tech. It is a weekly
program discussing technology, and the politics relating to the
introduction of new things geek. It's a fun show, check it out.
The Engadget podcast
is a little more laid back than the first two. It is another show of
new things geek with unique perspectives on current and new technology.
My trusty, reliable, 256 MB Sandisk MP3 Player, with an FM Tuner, holds just the right amount of these episodes to last me a good week. There are a couple other podcasts I will stick in the play list, but I always have an archive of those mentioned above.

"passionate service from AT&T Wisconsin"

Kristian Knutsen from the Isthmus in Madison attempted to obtain comment from AT&T, both corporate and a local branch, in relation to the NSA and its current involvement in spying on American communication.
She also obtained public comment from TDS, an alternative, among others, to AT&T, Verizon, and all others involved here in Madison.
As it looks, these intrusions into our privacy isn't applicable, or appears not to be a determinant for the need to answer customer questions and disclose how our private information is used.
The Isthmus web page is slow to respond. It looks like digg.com is playing a role in that.
