Medicine Cabinet: Must have Essential Oils

11 April, 2010 03:35 CST6CDT

For minor cuts and scrapes as use for a disinfectant, I always keep around a jar of Lavender essential oil.  I suggest either Grosso or a Lavendin, 40/42.

Helichrysum is wonderful for bruises, for example baggy eyes.  I suggest a 10% dilution in Coconut Oil, Jojobo Oil, or Grapeseed Oil.

Santalum Album (Sandalwood) quickens the healing time of acne and scars.  For those of you whom wear hats and suffer from outbreaks, or for general infections, this is an excellent essential oil to help heal with minimum scaring.  I suggest a 10% dilution in Coconut Oil.

The last recommended essential oil for every household is lemon.  You may mix this oil with distilled water or alcohol and use it to disinfect the kitchen, bathroom, or wherever germs may hide.

Always dilute!
